Generic Q's about Itouch Ipod + Macbook + PC

Hi all

Summary:

My gf has Macbook/Itouch Ipod, I have 5th gen Ipod/PCxphome.
We share the Itouch Ipod, and it's registered and sync by her Macbook/Itunes.

Questions:

1. She updated to 2.0 software on her MacBook for her Itouch Ipod, but I have not as I don't have Itouch, do I have to put the Itouch Ipod 2.0 software on my PC xphome to make it work? Do we have to buy another seperate purchase so that it works on my PC xphome?

2a. Can I transfer my Itunes purchased videos, tv shows, music to her Itouch Ipod from my PC xphome directly?

2b. From my Pc xphome? or do I have to load up the back up cds of my purchased products from Itunes to her Macbook?

(I dont want to transfer my Purchased products to her Macbook, it's strictly just on the Itouch Ipod only, but I'm not sure how to go about it)

3. I want to buy some apps and games for our shared Itouch Ipod but on my PC xphome, how would I go about that? (that way we can differentiate our purchases)

Thanks in advance.

Itouch Ipod, Mac OS X (10.5.2), Xp Home Sp2

To answer the questions:

1. I believe you do not need it. If you are just trying to play music from the iPod, all you would have to do is upgrade to iTunes 7.7 to be able to read from the 2.0 software. (I think)

2. Generally, I think the iPod can only be synced from one iTunes on one computer at a time. Thus, all of the uploading of music would have to be done from her computer. That said, if you register your purchases on her iTunes (Under "store" menu > Authorize Computer) you should be able to also download your purchased songs there. Again, I've never tried it this way, but it should / might work.

3. Same as the songs, but I don't know if Authorizing the computer is the same sharing across computers and such.

Hope that helps a little,

Tomek

Thanks TomekKott for some answers on this.

I know you can transfer from each pc to ipod (authorizations) but I'm not sure if it's versatile enough for it to sync from Macbook and Pc together, as the Itouch Ipod is the medium between the two.

Would this work as far as the new purchases go?: I log onto my account on her Macbook then transfer the Apps/Games that way?

The Generic goal I guess:

MacBook ------> Itouch Ipod <-------- PC
(sharing one medium between two platforms only)

It ends at the Itouch Ipod essentially, but not to transfer to Pc to Macbook or Macbook to Pc using the Itouch Ipod.

I'll test it out with the Authorizations tests later on, the Itouch Ipod left with my Gf who went to college. ><
