iPhone 3G - Cracks in Plastic Housing

I have been reading a lot of posting indicating cracks in the iPhone 3G plastic housing. I have multiple hairline cracks around my camera and near the volume rocker.

For some reason the thread here (Apple Discussions) has disappeared??? So I opened a new one. Apple must do something about this.

There is another thread at macrumors.com on the same topic: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=525177

Another thing, we as well as Apple probably aren't even sure if this was just a bad batch when the plastic was mixed, not formed at the right temperature, etc... I would imagine they do not just want to say whoever has an issue please call us for replacement. They want to KNOW which phones were affected and be proactive by also eplacing them before the issue appears.

Yea, my white iPhone has 1 crack that I can confirm on the corner of the phone nearest the headphone jack (that I've never used).

There are also two potential cracks next to the volume buttons. I'll have to inspect in better lighting to verify.

My friend txt'd me and asked if I had any cracks like his, and I said no. Upon further inspection, I sure did...

No 3G reception, can't make 3 way calls to save my life, cracked case, Activation ****, MobileMe disaster, 2.0 Firmware buggy as Windows ME... Wow, did I buy an Apple product, or something from Microsoft?

to fix your 3-way calling, here's what I had to do. Call AT&T and get to apple iPhone support, tell them your call merging is not working. Tell them you read about he problem online and the cause is that AT&T does not have it activated on your account. They will call AT&T and get them to fix it. DO NOT call AT&T account support yourself, they won't understand what to do and it won't get fixed.
