Signatures not available in Mail 3.3 on my new MacBook

Why are none of the signatures I have entered in Mail Preferences available for use? All I see on any mail messages by Signature's toggle is None. I am already tired of constantly typing in the same info over and over.

MacBook4,1, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

in mail preferences->signatures when you click on a particular account do you see any signatures listed? if not go to "all signatures" select the one you want and drop it onto the account you want to use it with.

this is the correct way it should work. when i do this, the signatures stick for a while, then the account reverts to 'none' with no signatures associated with it. this happens again and again even if i re-assign them. any thoughts?
