Editing 16mm converted on Mini-DV and Capturing questions.

Hello all, I recently shot 2 reels of 16mm colour and BW film, and had it converted to tape (NTSC 24fps). Right now I only have a consumer Canon mini-dv cam to capture on, and I want to know what is the BEST capturing setting (besides HD as it is not an HD camera) and what is DV NTSC 48 kHz Advanced 2:3:3:2 Pull Down Removal? Is this necessary for my tape?

Also!

after i'm finished editing, what is the BEST POSSIBLE setting in either final cut or compressor to export my final finished 16mm film as? I basically want the finished product to look true to its original 16mm format/ratio/etc.

Any feedback is much appreciated!

(ALSO, being new to FSC2, I'm doing quite a bit of reading through the manual volumes, but how, why and when should I use Cinema Tools for my 16mm film? Is it mainly for people who are familiar with editing actual reels of film?)

Thanks everyone!

If you are going back to cut film you should have transfered with Keycode for tracking. My bet is you are not but if you want the best quality you should have xfered to something other than DV. Not a good choice, especially if you shot film. I would finish the edit and then go back and re-transfer the selects and finish in HD.

Film is becoming more rare so IMHO one should give it a lot of TLC as it's still be best medium out there... congrats for shooting film BTW.
