BUMP! I have this same issue! I'm assuming it has something to do with the fact that we have the Canon digital cameral software installed, given the window title that I always see. Not exactly consequential, but annoying as ****... Solutions, guys???
Have the same, it is the Canon downloader.. well the obvious solution would be to disable it..
otherwise, I usually just sit it out, it's disappearing after a couple of seconds..

The Canon program that opens on my box is CameraWindow 6.0.0.6
Since the Canon camera is toast and this was created in 2003 I busted up the stronghold and divested the Canon programs...
At least thats what I set out to do. I soft-heartedly left the Canon software in storage on the disk. I was able to resolve the issue with a quick search for "Image Capture", the default image grabbing utility in OS X. I made a quick change in "Image Capture:Preferences:General" changing the default action when the camera is plugged into the computer from open:"CameraWindow" to open:"Image Capture".
I can now download the photos taken with my iPhone 3G.
