Final Cut Pro 5.1.4 locks up with color wheel when doing a capture

I am attempting to do a capture from my Sony HDR-HC7 into FCP 5.1.4. Easy Setup is HDV-1080i60 Firewire Basic. When I bring up log and capture the camcorder is seen. I can control it with the controls. I can see the video in the L&C window. The audio bars under clip settings move when I am playing. Shuttle works. However, if I do anything else, such as Capture Now, FCP hangs with a spinning color wheel. This even happens if, with the video playback stopped, I try to close the L&C window.
