I bought the phone on release day and today I opened up the supplied headphones to use. When I plugged them in a quarter of the metal plug is still showing.

By this I mean that the white part of the headphone plug does not sit flush against the iphone itself. it goes all the way in up until the last white band then stops.

When on a call or listening to music the slightest nudge will cause the headphones to cut out.

Any ideas? Or is this just a design flaw?

Try pushing it in a little harder, you should feel a click when it fully seats.

iPhone sockets are stiffer than iPod - it was the same for the earlier iPhone
