Problem printing 11x17 from Adobe Acrobat

I am having problems printing 11x17 pdfs from acrobat pro. Whenever I try to, all I get a piece of the image printing out on an 8.5 x 11 sheet. Printing from applications (such as Quark) is no problem. Only from Acrobat. it happens to any printer I try to send to (all are network printers)

Welcome to Apple Discussions,

A few things…
Is the 11x17 (tabloid) paper tray loaded in the printer?
Try going to Page Setup, select your printer, and then change the Paper size to Tabloid or 11x17

If you are trying to print the entire 11x17 on 8.5x11 paper… in the Acrobat print window, to the left of the Preview, click the Page scaling pop-down button and select Fit to printable area. (Notice that the preview will show the image of the page and the dimensions of your paper)

Hope this helps.

+"the preview shows 11x17 but what prints out is just part of the image on letter size paper."+

This implies that the printer is choosing the letter size paper. Is the 11x17 paper in a tray or in the manual feed slot? Either way, you might need to tell the printer, i.e., Paper Feed option when clicking on Copies & Pages button.

So underneath the Preview window are the dimensions...

Document: 11 x 17 in
Paper: 11 x 17 in

or does it say Paper: 8.5 x 11 in?

One other alternative is to try printing with the Preview application. (Sometimes that works and vice versa.)

Everything in acrobat is set for 11x17. The preview says 11x17 for document and paper. I set 11x17 paper for the the paper feed, but when it gets to the printer it prints the partial image on 8.5x11. It does this to any different printer I send to.

When I try to select preview it says it is not supported

For some reason it's still choosing the 8.5 x 11 paper (tray). If the printer has multiple trays for the different size papers, see if the correct tray is selected in the Paper Feed options which is found by clicking on the Copies & Pages button. If that is/was correct then try pulling the letter size tray out to possibly force the printer to use the other tray. If the issue persists, try selecting manual feed in the Paper Feed option and place the 11x17 paper in the manual feed slot of the printer.

+"When I try to select preview it says it is not supported"+

What I meant is to use the Preview application/software/program that is in the Applications folder NOT the Preview button in the Print window.

None of this is working. I finally got it to print the image on 11x17, but the image that prints is just an 8.5 x 11 section of the image that i'm trying to print. I do appreciate all the help. It seems to be an acrobat specific problem. I can print just fine from quark or word, its just acrobat that is giving me problem. I have Acrobat 7 pro installed. I even went and downloaded Acrobat 9 reader and tried to print from it, and it does the same thing. AAARRRRGGGG.
