Change background of UIButton with rounded edges

the best way i found to get rid of it
was to create the rounded buttons as png
and use custom instead of rounded rect

Have a look at the UICatalog example. Specifically the ButtonsViewController. There's a good example of using an image background with round corners.

Hi guys - I am in need of the same thing. I had been looking at the ButtonsViewController and see how it works now. My question though is what's the best way to make those images? The ones in UICatalog have a gradient and are glossy. Being severely artistically challenged, I have no idea how to make these.

Is there a standard Apple tool or SDK API that can be used to produce the colored glossygradiated background images?

Jim - may I suggest a new thread since your question is actually quite different from the original question.

I'd also like a good suggestion on this to. I'm a programmer, not an artist. Any tool to help make nice UI bits would be great.
