Ringtones

Has anyone noticed how many posts there are about custom ringtones gone bad?

I installed the recent update to 2.0 yesterday, not from my home computer, and now my custom ringtone, which gave me so much trouble to install and assign in the first place, is missing from my phone. I'm guessing it's on my home computer where I originally downloaded it and I'll have to go through the whole process again.

What a pain.

Actually, I had working custom ringtones on my 3G but when I updated to 2.0.2 they were no longer on the iPhone. They are on the computer and show up in iTunes as ringtones but I CAN'T synch them up.

Anyone else having the same problem?

I am having similar problem. My ringtones show up and I can select them but as soon as I go back to normal phone use it sets my contacts all back to default ring. It was also after I downloaded 2.02. Anyone else have this problem?

Guys when you do the new 2.1update you have to make sure you back up your phone. If you did it at another computer with itunes that didnt store your settings and backup originally you may run into problems.

Make sure you update from your original computer where you keep all your files. If ringtones arent working you will have to manually remove and resync them. That should solve the problem in most cases.
