AOL mail is acting up on iPhone

I've had my iPhone since January and I have both gmail and AOL "installed" on it.
It has worked very well up until today when AOL Inbox just shows 3-4 e mails. I have lots more in my Inbox when I open AOL on my computer and I used to have all the mails in the iPhone's inbox as well.. For some reason today it doesn't want to show me more than 3-4 mails.
When I click on "download more", more messages gets downloaded but then they go away again. Very strange!!

I upgraded to 2.0 about 2 weeks ago and has had no other problems.

If anyone has any idea what is going on, please let me know
Thanks very much
Sophie

I have numerous incoming messages when I log into my AOL account using my Mac. It's been twelve hours since my iPhone has picked up an AOL message. The wheel just spins telling me it's "Connecting ..."

I'm having similar problems with our company's POP account.

The only way I can reliably retrieve an e-mail from either account is to switch over to "phone" mode to call my office to ask my assistant to read my e-mails to me. I could have done that without investing in this device. I'm very disappointed.

I read on a different thread on a work-around for the connecting spinning wheel...

When in the mail app, hold the home key down for 5 seconds and the application will quit and reset the program. Try checking email again. If this doesn't work, power down completely and then restart your iPhone. I tried it and it did stop the spinning wheel and I was able to retrieve some AOL email once, but then it won't see new email again even though I do see new email when I log in directly into AOL. Hope this solves one of your problems.

I don't have the trouble with the spinning wheel.
If I have new mails, they come in. They just don't stay there for very long, they just disappear after a day or so.

I just deleted my AOL account on my iPhone and put it back on... I thought maybe starting over might solve it but no... Same thing happened.
It downloads 47 messages, they all came up... then one by one the disappear!!
After there is only 3 lonely messages left it says at the bottom "Load more messages, 97 more". I do that, it takes a little while, lots more messages start to pop up but then they disappear one by one again!!!
And I'm standing there with the 3 lonely messages left....

My gmail account works like a charm (just like my AOL used to do) but something must have happened to the AOL.

If anybody has any idea what might be causing this I would very much appreciate it.

Thank you
