Myspace player not working (but other flash sites work)

Hi,

When I go to Myspace pages and try to load the music player, only a white box loads (no error, but no music). Example website: www.myspace.com/anberlin

However, when I use youtube and other flash-based alternatives, they do work. Any ideas? I'm not to familiar with codecs for webpages/how to reinstall. Anyways, here is what I have tried:

1) Cleared cookies
2) Removing safari preferences in hd/user/library/preferences

Appreciate any and all help. Thanks,
TM

For all the people who had trouble with myspace, i've had a bunch of time with this same issue (taken from another forum):

When surfing the web with Firefox, if I try to open a myspace page, it kills firefox's connection to the Internet. Myspace is VERY slow to load, and it almost never completely does. Sometimes the music player loads and sometimes it doesn't. It always messes up firefox's connection. I have to quit firefox and reload it to get it to work again.
Safari does no better; it takes a long time to load and generally doesn't load the whole page either. Sometimes it works, sometimes half the page loads, sometimes I only get a blank screen with blue question marks.

I've tried running firefox in Rosetta. It did not help and actually made FF slower and use a lot more CPU time...

I just tried uninstalling firefox (with app zapper) and reinstalling. Clean install of firefox and it did the same thing. Myspace would load but when it is trying to load the music player it seems to take forever, and when I try to go to any other website it will not connect.

SOLUTION:

CHange your DNS server to 4.2.2.1

How to change DNS server: Go into your mac's system preferences/ Network / Airport / advanced / DNS - Add 4.2.2.1 to the DNS Servers list

Since I did that, the music player on myspace loads super fast and most of the page does also, i just did it and results were instant. Tell me how yall did. Mine works fine now

I have the same issue. The MySpace music player is nonexistent in Safari now. Used to work fine. It does load for me in Firefox (I'm listening right now), if a bit slower than it used to. In Safari, there's no indication that it's even trying to load. There's just an empty space where the player should be. Kinda *****!

This drove me nuts for weeks. No MySpace music player on either Safari or Firefox.

After much frustration, deleting cache, cookies, updating Flash Player, resetting Safari, etc, I finally found the answer on MySpace help forums.

The problem (for me) was that I did not have the Global Storage Settings Panel setting in Flash player set to allow third-party content to store information on my computer. Once I turned this on, the MySpace player began working again.

To check your setting, go here and make sure allow 3rd party flash content to store data on your computer is turned on.

That fixed it for me. Hope this helps somebody!
