My ipod mini won't turn on at all after battery lost power....

I've had it for about three years, but i haven't been using it very often in the past year.I've been charging it every so often in the past few months, and it's been in pretty good working condition. However, I was unable to charge it two days ago, resulting in the warning sign of the battery losing power after I turned it on yesterday. In the night, I plugged it into my adapter, but no response at all showed up; not even a sign to say it was charging/still low on power. I tried the reset option, plugging it out and back in, but the screen was still blank. This morning, still nothing, and I don't have access to my own pc until later on (to try to connect it there)...suggestions, anyone? I'm at a loss here, besides the possibility that it might be time to replace the battery...

Mine (bought this winter, reconditioned) won't charge at all - I'm trying the "5Rs" approach, but since it won't charge or turn on, the computer doesn't see it - so I have major doubts most of it can work. I haven't yet tried a direct charge from the wall - I can't find my spouse's charger! - but I've tried a 4 USB ports so far with no luck.

The Forum page says there's an answer to this question, but I couldn't locate the answer...?

I still didn't find the "Answer" and "Solution" that are listed for this question, but I did go through most of the "5Rs" - and now it's working!!!! (I think!) - anyway - it woke up and it's charging. I did have to try Reset and Retry (repeatedly), then Restart my computer - and update a bunch of stuff I thought I'd already updated, and also update iTunes. I weas set to go to Reinstall (even though so far the iPod appeared to be invisible to my computer). While I was checking the iTunes Help link on how to select my (invisible) iPod - all of a sudden it woke up!!!!

So, Angel - thank you for inspiring me to keep trying - and maybe when you get to your computer, it will work out? I sure hope so!

It sounds like the battery might be totally dead. The USB ports of computers generally don't provide enough power to charge the battery when they are almost gone. If you tried a wall charger for a couple of days with no change the I would suggest trying to have the battery replaced. Check the on line repair people like on Craigslist, etc. They are usually cheaper, faster and often will do it while you wait.
