900MHz G3 PowerLogix Upgrae -- Pismo

Hello,

I am looking for feedback, from those that have a PowerLogix 900MHz upgrade in their Pismo.

I recently installed the PowerLogix 900MHz upgrade in my mint Pismo (1GB 133MHz SDRAM, 250GB Western Digital 5400RPM PATA + Intech Hi-Cap Driver, NewerTech High Capacity Battery, 8X DL DVDRW, stock Apple Power Supply).

Though -- my Pismo is locking up constantly. While installing Mac OS X Tiger, the install is fine, no freezes or anything. After the install and booting from the hard drive, the computer will lockup after 3 minutes of usage. This requires a hard restart, and the computer will chime, login to Mac OS X Tiger, and the computer locks up again. I also booted off my original Apple Pismo Restore CD. No freezing or lockups during the install, then after booting, the computer locks up..

I have carefully re-seated the microprocessor card, no issues. I am starting to wonder what could be the issue..

I am thinking it is my logic board or possibly the new Western Digital Drive?

Any feedback is appreciated.

Ok -- well I transplanted a PATA HD (w/Tiger), and the computer locked up with that working hard drive....

Very strange..

I would read other users' experiences with the 900MHz G3 here...

...and select Powerbook G3 2000 and PowerLogix BlueChip PB G3 upgrade.

If you have an OEM microprocessor card, you could swap it in and test.

If none of the above is helpful, I would erase the HD, forget the Intech Hi-Cap Driver, and reinstall Tiger. The 250GB HD will work just fine; it will still see the first 128GB of the HD without issue. If you want to make sure only the first 128GB is used (temporarily), create a 120GB partition at the front of the HD, then install Tiger. If no problem, then there is some kind of issue with the Hi-Cap Driver. If still having freezes, I would suspect either the 900MHz CPU and/or RAM.
