iDVD "Error during rendering/encoding of the menus/slideshows" for new slid

Please Help!

I have never needed to use iDVD'08 vers7.0.2 before. Today, for the first time I tried to create a DVD of three wedding picture slideshows on one DVD.

I created the project without a problem using the "Revelution" theme but when it came to burning the DVD i repeatedly get the error:

*+"Error during rendering/encoding of the menus/slideshows - There was an error during rendering/encoding of the menus/slideshows. The burning process has been canceled."+*

This seems to happen at the end of rendering the main menu. I have already tried taking out one of the slideshows incase there was too much data and trying to render it as a disk image instead of direct to DVD but I still get this error every single time.

Please tell me what I am doing wrong! User uploaded file

Thanks in Advance - Cyrus

Just as an update - I have read a couple of other forum posts and I have checked that all of my media is present and that I am getting NO warning triangles in "Map View" mode. Everything seems clear. Still getting the same errors!!! -

HHEEELLPPPP!!!!!! (my wife is going to kill me if I don't get these wedding slideshows done!

I am having the same "error during rendering/encoding problem" problem! I have been trying to create a disk image so I can burn this project at a higher encoding rate. Last night I was able to burn the project to disk using the "One step from imovie" feature. This is not a solution because it doesn't allow me to create a menu with chapters. Any help out there?

Yes... I did try and store the originals in th DVD-ROM area of the disk but there was plenty of space on the disk. When I went to the disk properties the entire thing was less than 2Gb.

I tried recreating the entire slideshow from scratch using a different theme (Forever instead of Revolution) and this time it worked fine. I have still not ben able to burn the original DVD from the original theme and have now archived this. However I am still interested in the solution if anyone has one because I would still prefer to use the revolution theme and the other content was identical!!

Is anybody getting an answer to this problem? I have tried three times to burn and get this same error message...have checked the map and no yellow triangles...everything else is just fine. I have made DVDs before using IDVD...don't remember this problem. I did not send the slideshow from Iphoto but instead made the slideshow in IDVD.

All:

I receive the EXACT same error at the EXACT same point. I have been burning DVD's with no issues until last week. Did an upgrade come out and mess things up? I too, initially thought that maybe I was trying to use to much data. But it was less that the 4GB a DVD can hold so I didn't think that was it. I thought I had bad DVD's and starting throwing them out. That wasn't it. Then I started playing with the settings burn/format settings, that wasn't it.

I tried the OneStep DVD suggestion posted here and that worked. But, of course, you loose any option to customize.

Hopefully Apple will help us fix this SOON!!

I had this problem, too. I would make the slide show and preview it, and it would look great. When I went to burn, however, I would get the same error during menu rendering/encoding. I knew the problem wasn't with my images, so I looked to see what I did to the menu sequence. The answer for me was simple - I had turned off the music on the title page of the "revolution" theme. When I turned it back on, all my DVDs burned without a problem! So here is my solution: make sure the title music is on when you're burning. It sounds crazy, but that was the only variable and when I turned it back on, I was able to burn the DVDs. Good luck!

I came across the same "error during rendering/encoding". I hadn't intentionally muted the DVD menu music and couldn't seem to "unmute" the music, so I switched to a different theme and then switched back to the one I wanted, and it processed just fine. Not sure why muting the music makes it not able to be processed, but it did work. Thanks for the help!
