Macbook XP install not recognizing wireless, 2.1 bootcamp drivers

Hi - I've read the posts, but nobody seems to have a successful method to get XP to recognize a wireless network.

I've updated the Bootcamp drivers to 2.1, disabled & re-enabled the wireless connection, set the security to be WEP (which XP says works) but still have no connection on the XP side - Mac & Fusion work fine.

XP recognizes the AirPort card & Network, but then hangs on resetting the IP address.

any help greatly appreciated

I have a new mac mini intel 1.83 ghz Core 2 Duo I used bootcamp to partition Windows XP pro SP2
I was initially easily able to connect to my wireless Apple extreme in either Leopord 10.5.4 or Windows XP.

I then installed all the new (100) security updates for SP2 and now Windows XP sees my airport extreme but for some reason can't connect. I set up the Wizard using a manual network key and using the same password for my network connection. When I startup in Leopard 10.5.4 no problems always connected to Airport extreme. But no connection on Windows XP to wirelessx Apple extreme.

I wonder if anyone has a solution, maybe a detailed explanation how to set up with the Windows XP network wizard?
Does the Apple AirPort Utility Setup 5.3.2 for windows help in any way?
Thanks in advance!

I have no idea what happened. I plugged in my USB flash drive in an attempt
to run the Apple Airport utility for windows to see if that would get me connected, but just as I plugged in the USB drive my wireless connection flashed and said CONNECTED and I've been good for the past 12 hours. I never had to use the Apple Airport utility.
I just wish I knew what happened in case I lose this connection and have to try & reconnect....I guess I could always try inserting a usb drive!

No word on how to fix this still?
I've just booted up into XP because there was a windows only application i needed to download, but to get on the internet I've had to plug my ethernet cable in, thus cutting everyone else off our wireless network.

I've been having trouble with my wireless in OS X as well though recently, i'm starting to think there's something majorly wrong with my Airport...

Afscott,
I don't have a fix for the airport problem in bootcamp, but if your having problems otherwise, down load the application AP Grapher 1.2.1, you may find it quite helpful. If your in a high populated area, the problem could be corrected by a simply change in the channel least used in the area. All the networks are shown in the AP scanner section, with the channel being used.

I got my bootcamp wireless working! I'm now connected to my Airport Express with no problems whatsoever.

The way I fixed it was by sheer coincidence too, I was trying to connect my Nintendo DS to my airport network, the DS only supports 40bit connections, so I used to airport utility to change this (you don't have to change your password, and you dont get issued a new WEP or anything). Now I just booted into Windows and it connected to my wifi straight away.

I doubt this is a coincidence! Hope it works for other people too....

I resolved this issue today on a MacBook Pro 17" running Boot Camp XP SP2. I was using the install disc that came with the MacBook Pro (10.5.2), which, had driver's version 2.1, and after several rounds of uninstalling and re-installing I could not get the airport card to be seen or work. I found another install disc to a MacBook Pro which was brought earlier (10.5), it had driver's version 2.0.2.
After it installed and I re-booted it saw the card; I put in the WPA password and it worked.

I hope this helps.
