DLO nanoTune broken by latest iPod update?

I have a DLO nanoTune FM transmitter I use in my car. The nanoTune draws power from the iPod but features a cigarette lighter adapter which will power and/or charge the ipod. If the iPod has a good charge, the adapter isn't needed. Anyway...

Seems that the current version (1.3.1) of the iPod software re-introduced an old bug that makes the nanoTune shut down immediately upon power-up. This problem happened after a software upgrade a while back (shortly after I purchased the iPod and the nanoTune) but it didn't take Apple long (a couple of days) to prop an upgrade that fixed the problem. Now, however, the problem is back.

I reported the problem to DLO tech support and they assured me they would 'escalate' the issue with Apple.... but... given the age of the first generation nano, I am sure users of this particular DLO device are not as plentiful as we once were. Further, because the ipod fits inside the nanoTune, it is not physically compatible with any other iPod.

How likely is it this issue will be addressed with a software tweak? or.. should I start shopping for a different iPod/FM transmitter?

I think Apple should build FM transmission capability into iPods. Then I would be listening to music instead of surfing for solutions.
