Time Machine uses TC but fills internal HD as well
I've been using Time Machine on an external HD for about 6 weeks without any problem. Last week I got my TC 500 installed. First it only showed up as a white Disc Image icon while back-up and dissapeared after finishing. Finally I got it working o.k.
A few days ago something strange happend. My internal HD (160 GB) seemed to get bigger and bigger. As far as the finder tells me I have five folders on that HD with a total size of about 60 GB. On Saturday the information about the HD itself (clicking the icon) said, the HD was used with more than 100 GB. Today my Mac complained a lack of space on the internal HD: 2,3 GB are left!
Yes. I can see about 60 GB used space but the HD is filled to its total capacity.
On my TC I have a back-up file of about 80 GB. Adding these 80 GB to the visible 60 GB on my internal HD summs up to the total capacity of my internal HD.
Obviously Time Machine uses the TC. But it seems to use my internal HD as well.
What is going on?
