Two different iTunes Accounts?... My old Mac and my new Me.

Hello,
I have two different accounts... My old Mac and my new Me.

How can I merge the two accounts? Can I get the music I downloaded into the old account into my new account? I actually went ahead and synced with my desktop that has that old stuff in it, but now wonder if I can sync with my new laptop and the mobil me account...?

Also, I am having a problem sending mail from my phone. Anyone know the deal?

Thanks!

If you were a former .Mac member, your old .Mac account name and new MobileMe account name are one and the same account.

If you had a "normal" (non .Mac) Apple ID and now have a MobileMe account, then no, you can not merge that two accounts and not transfer music from one to the other. You can, however, authorize the new account to play music bought with the old account.

I have two responses for this.

First, the simple workaround is to just authorize iTunes to play music from both accounts (there's an option for it in one of the menus). You can only log into one at a time to purchase new items from the store, but iTunes itself should be able to play all music from all the accounts that have been authorized on that computer.

HOWEVER, I'm actually in the same boat, and I'm not happy with just that workaround. When I went into the Apple Store to get my 3G, they wanted me to register the phone with my iTunes account right there in the store, but I couldn't remember my iTunes account password (which I created a long time ago with my Gmail address). I had told the sales guy that I recently purchased a MobileMe account, so he told me to just use that instead. So now I have two accounts.

Having two accounts just doesn't sit well with me, so I'm also very interested in the answer to this question.
