Seperate audio and video.

How do you seperate an audio clip from the video clip before you import it into your project. Any and all help is greatly apprciated

You can't. FCE captures video and audio together.

If what you're asking is how to select video without audio or audio without video from a clip in your Browser and bring only that element into your timeline, just click the tab(s) in the patch panel area at the left end of the timeline to disconnect the element of the clip (audio or video) you don't want to use. Then bring the clip into your timeline in the usual way.
