Hyperlink Rollover Issue
I have seen this posted in several other threads and am adding my 2 cents.
I am doing what I can to troubleshoot rollover issue with hyperlink that seems to be unique not only to Safari, but also to same system I am doing my iWeb work on. When I check the issue with Firefox on same system, the color scheme is fine. When I check the issue with Safari on my other Mac, the color scheming is fine.
The issue is that I am using the "Enable (text) as a hyperlink" from inspector, and then going to "Format" part and setting the "Normal" and "Rollover" colors. When I work on this in iWeb it looks just as I am intending. I desire to have text links that are blue when normal and red when rollover. When I go to publish the site (changes), and then I visit the site with Safari on same system (Mac Pro), it has the first link as intended and the second one is not as intended. The Normal color is a different color.
I have tried:
- clearing cache
- doing a "publish all to .Mac"
- reformatting the colors
- deleting the page and starting a new one
None of this helped and what I feel I have discovered from both reading this forum and troubleshooting is that: the bug or problem appears to me to be with iWeb. I realize this doesn't make complete sense, but in reformatting the colors, I futzed with the "Disabled" and "Visited" color schemes and it appears to me that on my own system, the color that Safari picks up is the "Visited" setting, when there is more than one link on a page.
And so to "fix" the problem, with my second hyperlinked text (or all those beyond by first linked text), I made the "Visited" color the same as "Normal" setting and voila, it shows up correct now. Perhaps, not the ideal solution, but it beats going insane from such a minor issue.
Hope this helps,
Jman
Btw, can anyone explain to me why for my Blogs, the "Archive" page in the left sidebar shows up as green tinted icon, rather than the default blue or red?
