How to move contacts from iphone to mac's Address book WITHOUT DELETING?
I want to move contacts from my iPhone to the address book in the computer. I'm scared about it deleting contacts in my iPhone instead as I've heard horror stories. Syncing is so freaking confusing???
Thanks. It worked; I made sure to uncheck Replace information on the iphone in the Advanced section. However, I want to test out if deleting a contact from the Address Book deletes it from the iPhone after syncing? I'll post back.
Ok weird so it DID delete the contact from the iPhone after deleting from my Address book. So what's the point of the Advanced Replace information on the iphone option?? I had it UNCHECKED and it still deleted. Thank God I tested this out with one contact.
This is odd. Now I tried adding a contact in Address Book and syncing and it didn't add it to the iPhone, yet when I deleted a contact from the ddress Book it deleted it from the iPhone. In both cases, I had Advanced options unchecked.
It's really confusing. How do you know what it's going to do. Whether it's going to delete from here or there??
So far playing around with it back and forth. My understanding is the following;
1. Add on iPhone / Sync / Adds to Address Book
2. Delete on iPhone / Sync / Deletes from Address Book
3. Add in Addres Book / Sync / Does not add to iphone (with no regards to Advanced option in iTunes)
4. Delete in Address Book / Sync / Deletes on iPhone (with no regards to Advanced option in iTunes)
