How can I open the box ... ipod hi-fi

The dock in my ipod hi-fi does not work anymore.
I have tested almost everything.
Apple says "no service for the box ... go and buy a new one (which means 399$)"

Now i want to open the box and try to fix the problem or put a new dock in it.

Any ideas?
