we need a longer charging cord

*its time, we need a new CHARGER THAT HAS A LONGER CORD.*

i have the original iphone which the cord is short and when its plug'd into the wall outlet it wont reach where im at, or at night im sleeping and its charging it wont even reach my bed when i need to reach out for it, i keep charging it and setting it on the floor. or when im using it and charging it im always on the floor also while its charging. i also have the charger for my bluetooth headset, same thing..

we need them to make a new longer charging cord for the iphone. this is insane.

Get a USB extender cable. I don't think Apple will do much though, the cord that comes with the iPhone 3G was actually about 2cm shorter than the one that came with my original iPhone.

I AGREE 1,000% This little 36" cord is absurd. I spent $30 on another cord to take to work because my phone could not keep a charge till the end of the day, the outlet is right next to my desk and the cord is not long enough to set the phone on my desk where I can reach it while Im working. This is AGGRAVATING! What a difference a another 12"-16" would make! ! ! HELLO, APPLE, ARE YOU LISTENING, , , Steve Jobs, is your power cord only 36"

, , , and youre OK with this Randy? The expense in the Apple power cord is all of the custom connections, NOT the wire, another 12-16" would cost pennys, easily covered in the $30 price tag!

i agree its rubbish when u compare it too other mobile chargers maybe when apple see that the iphone is just another mobile (yes a very sophisticated one) but still just a mobile and start fixing things, have a proper charger etc

The USB/3G iPhone cord that comes with the Griffin PowerJolt car charger is longer. I swapped 'em... took the longer one to my office, put the shorter one in the car. Apple Store has the black version. I found a white charger elsewhere. Hope this helps.

I don't mind the short cord too much. When I'm working on my computer at my work desk and charging using the USB the extra cord might not look all that graceful, IMO. Same with charging in the car. I've been meaning to pick up an extender cord primarily for use while I'm surfing the net in the middle of the night, but I can't seem to remember to do so. They couldn't be that expensive, could they?
