Logic express 8 starting problem

Hi everyone

I just bought an new mac with logic express 8 only for recording real instrument
i pluged my fast track and logic asked me if i wanted to use it then i read the manual and did all the things they say but i just won't work Plus, i have a djm800 pioner ( dj console) is it possible to use it as a bridge between my guitar and logic?
