Bad quality jpeg or PNG powerpoint imort!

Had my question re: 'importing powerpoint slides' answered, and as I thought the way to import is by changing the file type. JPEG and PNG files import but are not looking good in video. This is for a corporate client so is there a better format, or a way to clean them up or am I doomed? Sorry if this has been answered but I have only seen suggestions about de-interlacing/interlacing which doesn't work.

What's the size of your powerpoint presentation slides? If they're smaller than your Final Cut canvas size, then you will have some nastiness. You can change the size of your slides in powerpoint.

Also, if you are looking at the jpegs in your canvas and they look blurry or harsh, try exporting out a few seconds at full resolution and see what that looks like. When I import jpegs into my timeline, they always look pretty bad displayed in the canvas, but when i output them, they look fine.
