Disappearing Dialogue

Whenever I use iTunes, any dialogue box that pops up during use disappears after about 2 seconds. It is still "there" and I have to use the keyboard to guess the selection I want in order to get rid of it. Usually I hit CANCEL and it's okay, but yesterday I didn't know what it said, and it went off duplicating ALL my files!

Does anyone know how to fix this? BTW, I'm on iTunes 5.0.1 (Yay!). It happened in the previous version and hasn't been rectified.
