connect ipod touch to itunes

I installed itunes on my computer and started a software update on my ipod - now all i have is a screen with a usb cable and itunes logo on my touch. don't know how to get rid of this. please help

Most likely, something went wrong during the software update. If you connect the iPod to the computer, does it show up in iTunes?

If yes, then a restore is probably the easiest and the best way to reset your iPod and fix this bug.

If it does not, put the iPod into DFU mode. First, connect the iPod to the computer. Turn the iPod fully off, then hold the power and center button for exactly 10 seconds. Then, release the power button, keeping the center button pressed. If you do it right, NOTHING will be on the Touch's screen, and iTunes will tell you it sees an iPod that must be restored. Hit restore, and that should fix it.
