Problem playing The Sims 2 using Boot Camp.

I'm a keen player of The Sims 2 computer gaming system, but recently switching over to the Macintosh world around 6 months ago, I've not been able to play these games as all my versions are PC compatible.
I decided to run Boot Camp and install Windows XP on my 24" iMac, then install all of my Sims 2 games and play them on that. Boot Camp installed successfully and all of my games loaded on fine.
However, when I run the game, it displays a pop-up saying, "Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectC 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate."
Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this problem?
It would save me lots of money if I could get this working instead of going out and blowing all my cash on Mac versions of the game. Thanks in advance.

Well I installed Vista on My Bootcamp and installed all the Sims 2 Expansions including Apartment life and everything all of them and I have failed to receive that error and I have a 24inch so maybe reinstall the what is new bootcamp maybe that might fix it for you http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/bootcampupdate21forwindowsxp.html I have had no problems with the sims 2 and plays really well in vista surprisingly. So it must got to run even better in Xp. Hope this helps also check the drivers in the system device manager to ensure it is properly set....
