Cannot connect to Airport Express

I just purchased and airport Express. I am trying to get started with Airport Utility. My MacMini recognizes the device but will not connect to it. it says "an error occurred, please close the configuration window and try again." How do I do this? I have the Airport Express connected to a Clearwire modem via ethernet. Can anyone help me?

MacMini intel 1.66, Mac OS X (10.4.11), 2GB ram

I figured this one out on my own, just needed to reset this device with a ballpoint pen. This was a refurbished unit and must not have been reset to factory specs by Apple. Now it works terrific with my XO laptop....this was very easy to set-up with Airport Utility.
