There appears to be just one space between "rm" and "/"

i.e rm(SPACE)/var/db/.AppleSetupDone

Is there a error message, if so, what is it?

I just tried it, had same error message. Perhaps there is a variable that must be changed? hmm. Here is an easier way to get access if you know your old username

It's a lot easier than that if you know the user name!

1. Reboot

2. Hold apple + s down after you hear the chime.

3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to set your password
mount -uw /
passwd username

You will be asked to enter and confirm a new password.

4. Reboot, and login. You may need to reset your keychain, but apart from that, you are good to go.

While booted in single user mode, use ls /Users to check the user accounts on the computer ("Shared" isn't one of them, of course).

I do remember somewhere on the Internet, using single user mode, you can reopen the Setup Assistant, resulting in a new admin account. I'll have to look for the link.

Does the user name you tried contain space or other characters other than letters and numbers? You'll need to escape (use a forward slash in front of) any spaces in the username, otherwise you get the Unix man page reminder on the syntax for using passwd.
