What's the opening studio logos in a movie called?

Hi,

What are those mini studio movies called that the studios put at the very begging of a dvd movie.

You see one for Warner Bros, Columbia has the lady, Dreamworks has the boy on the moon.

This topic comes up often in various video and film discussion circles. Regardless of its position in the presentation and whether or not it might be animated, they are all called simply "logo." What I have been told by people who should know is that "logo" is shorthand for anything that identifies any party involved in the production and is presented at the head. tail, or trailer. Can be a conventional logomark in a credit roll, an animated extravaganza, short, long.

I have never seen an official definition and it might be searchable if you have the energy.
