iPhone not showing up under devices?

OS X 10.5.4, iTunes 7.7.1 (11)
Not too sure why this has happened, but my iPhone not showing up in iTunes.

It does show up if I log in as root, but not as any other user.

When I reboot back into 10.4.11, it appears in iTunes with any user.

The only recent change was that I installed the "Keyboard Firmware Update"

Console is showing the error:
17/08/08 11:40:06 PM [0x0-0x21021].com.apple.iTunes[185] MobileDevice: AMDeviceNotificationSubscribe: USBMuxListenerCreate: No such file or directory.

I deleted the ~/User/Library, ~/User/Documents and ~/User/Music dirs, to no avail.
I have added a new user, same deal: not showing up...

It does show up in iPhoto, and ImageCapture for all users, so the issues appears to be limited to iTunes.

Is anyone else having this issue and found a fix?

I'm having the same problem. The only thing that I did was upgrade to Leopard and tonight I tried to sync with no avail - iPhone (with 2.0.1) isn't showing up in iTunes (logged in as myself, non-admin account). I haven't upgraded to iLife 08 but iTunes is up to date [7.7.1(11)]. Saw the same message logged by iTunesHelper, MobileDevice: AMDeviceNotificationSubscribe: USBMuxListenerCreate: No such file or directory.

Fixing the disk permissions (using Disk Utility) didn't fix my issue.
