How Do you Delete a Template You Created in Pages?

Hi Xavier,

I don't know if there's a fancy GUI shortcut to do this, but the templates are located in '/Users/youruser/Library/Application Support/iWork/Pages/Templates/My Templates'. Just go into your Finder and delete the templates you like from that folder.

It's an easy task when we take care that in AppleLand we are not allowed to delete a document from the applications which created it.

The way to do that is to use the Finder.

The standard path for custom templates is:
<startupVolume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Application Support:iWork:Pages:Templates:My Templates:

You may use the system's search tool search for files whoce name ends with ".template" (Pages ones) or by ".nmbtemplate" (Numbers ones).

First open the template you wish to delete then go:

+Menu > Format > Advanced > Manage Pages+

You will see a list of the parts of your Template eg +Cover, Inside, Text Page, Blank+.

Select the part name and click on the "-" (minus) button at the bottom of the dialog box. When you have removed everything, click on Done .

If I understand well, the OP asked to get rid of a template, not of one ore several pages in a template 😉

The steps I showed will get rid of the templates .

Whatever pages you have used in your document will remain unaffected but you will no longer have the templates available.
