Feedback from a noob

OK, by my join date, you probably think I shouldn't be a noob here, but lol I only come here when I have an issue, which hardly happens. Anyway, I find it difficult to navigate to the discussion areas from Apple's main site, so I always use google and I search on "apple discussion." It then brings me to this page: http://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa

Perfect, right? Well, the problem is that it's not immediately obvious where to post feedback when looking at that page. I posted a feedback message about the iPod Touch, which was immediately removed. Thankfully, the person who did it sent me a message with a link to the appropriate place for feedback, but it would be nice if I had known where to go after my google search.

Thanks for reading, and I hope this feedback is OK here hehe.

Or maybe I'm just the only person who gets to the discussion forums this way. shrug

The issue is really that the forums aren't meant for feedback at all. They're meant for asking other users technical questions about how to use Apple's products.

It might help to be aware that there is a Contact Us link at the bottom every Apple.com web page. Clicking on that link brings you to this contact page. At the bottom of the right column you'll see a list of feedback links, including Product Feedback. And there you'll see links to the feedback forms for virtually all Apple products.

It would be a good idea if these links were also at the top of every product page in these forums. That has been recommended in the past and they are on some forum pages (or at least there were some the last time I checked). But they're not on very many forum pages and having them on every product page in the forums would definitely help.

Also in the "for what it's worth" department ... 😉 You can navigate to these forums by going to http://www.apple.com , clicking on the Support tab at the top, and then under the "Featured Support Resources" heading there is a link to Discussions. It could be more prominent, for sure.
