What is everyone using to label dvd/cd's with? I use an Expressit program with windows but would like to find something in the Mac environment.
Can anyone help with a paper type label program?

Thanks

Several ways.... first, DVDs are made to exact specifications- adding a piece of paper will unbalance the disc and can be the source of erratic playback. Next, over time, it is quite likely the the label may bubble or peel in different humidity/seasons/age... leading to again an imbalance issue affecting playback. Finally, the deepest "pit" on a disc is closer to the top surface than the bottom surface, adding an adhesive to the top means that over time that adhesive could corrupt the disc. Although that may be avoided using an inkjet disc, I'm not sure.

Bottom line, sooner or later an adhesive label will unbalance the disc making it unplayable.

I own an Epson Stylus Photo R340 (this is a couple years old), and I buy the Verbatim DataLifePlus inkjet printable DVD-Rs, and this setup works great. The printer comes with simple (yet very sufficient) software (both OS X and Windows) for creating DVD labels, and then you print right to DVD. Very easy and professional-looking setup. I'll probably buy another Epson DVD-writing-capable printer when this one buys the farm.

Then some other device is acting as a print server - which means it's networked - which almost certainly means it is TCP/IP-based - which then means it doesn't matter if it's wired/wireless. Seems more likely Sunny meant the unit has built-in wireless capabilities. But s/he can clarify.

I've also never tried printing to the R340 thru a print server, so I don't know if that's a valid configuration.

That's what I'm talking about . . . I'm using Epson RX580 and have downloaded the Easty Print software, tried the work arounds, etc., and I can't get it to work when the printer is connected directly to the computer via USB or connected to the Airport. The only thing that works for me is printing through Tiger. Same thing with my old Canon LIDE 80 - it won't scan in Leopard, but it could be because it's so old and is the subject of another posting
