Me too. I'm having more bugs with 2.02 than before. It looks like apple simply changes the appearance of the reception bars to make it seem as if you're getting a better reception. But it's simply for show because my data is slower than ever and all my apps that require data (like myspace) don't log in anymore. Pandora does not function either.

I think they messed this up royally.

    I hate this phone now.

Nope. I still have the connect and drop issue with WIFI. And for the entire drive in I couldn't get anything off of the edge network either. But once i got to work I could. Man I miss v1.1.4!!!

Nope, I still get flaky 3G and the location feature that uses cell tower info only works consistently if I turn 3G off. It also appears to have broken the maps application bookmarks (I lose them).

Nope, On a 3G i have full bars, but i cannot open a single site , safari pops the following message

"Safari cannot open the page because the server stopped responding"

Apple and ATT are giving me the worst customer experience of my life.

I have 2.0.2 installed and have no added stability. I have dropped four or five calls today all while showing 5 bars of 3g service. While at work my phone does not receive even one bar of signal while other Edge and 3g ATT phones show 2-3 bars. Most of my day is spent going between no signal and one bar of unspecified network. I am a recent adapter of the iPhone and am beginning to wonder why there isnt more quality control comming out of Cupertino. I know that other company in WA sure gets a lot of scrutiny if its products arent up to snuff. If I am paying nearly $200 per month in service and 300 for a premium phone, I expect premium service and products.

It didn't fix anything. It would be nice if Apple gave us a **** changelog instead of the useless "bug fixes". What a waste of an upgrade.

I basically lost the edge network about a week ago, seems connected to the recent 2.01 upgrade. Updated to 2.02 and problems persisted. I did a complete restore last night "NOT FROM BACKUP" . I think that's important--whatever was corrupting the network would have simply been restored from backup. Do a restore and treat it like a new phone; just add your old sync stuff over fresh. (THAT MEANS DON"T FORGET TO DO A COMPLETE SYNC BEFORE RESTORING). So far so good, edge is behaving even faster than before.

Good luck. I know what a pain this can be.

Ever since I updated to 2.0.2 my 3G reception has gone done from 5 Bars to 1. (I did all the recommended resets, hard resets, network setting resets and restores without improvement).
The most annoying part however is that I no longer can connect to any wifi. After a hard reset it allows to join it for a short while but then drops the connection, not finding any networks afterwards.

Has there been any announcement on a 2.0.3 release?

    Any Ideas?

My experience has been similar to those of the authors of the posts above. No improvement on stability. I have almost never used 3G since I bought the phone because it doesn't work (except for brief periods of optimism when I decide, unsuccessfully, to give it another try). I live and work in the center of a giant blue "3G coverage area," but I have to use EDGE and wifi. Just like the owners of the original iPhone who pay less for their data plan.

Word is it's coming in Sept, but so far the only tidbit is that it will fix the application crashing issue plaguing some users.

It **** well better fix these networking issues too!

No this fix did nothing for me. I still get on average 4 "call failed" events when trying to dail out each day. I get dropped calls when not moving around. I also get into a strange state where no E or 3G are shown in the display. Also during web browsing, sometimes it will just sit there forever with the little "thinking/working" icon spinning aimlessly. Only way out of this is to close browsers or try again later.

I live in the heart of silicon valley litterally a few miles from apple. I've never in all my years experienced so many dropped calls or failures when trying to dial out. this is my first apple product and i'm trying to give it the benefit of the doubt. sans the actual "phone functionality" its wonderful. As a phone it ***** thus far.

I want to "believe" there will be a fix and will hold out as long as i can becuase i know/hope/assume apple is working on this. =]

I have had no 3g service at my house or the surrounding area since I got my iphone. None of the updates have helped and I am apparently in an excellent coverage area. I even got a new sim card form at&t which did nothing. Also i am still experiencing keyboard lag and random application crashes.

Surprisingly it fixed my Contacts issue, which was painfully slow to open before... It was supposed to be fixed in the 2.0.1 update, but it didn't for mine... 2.0.2 did fix it however... It could be faster yet though...

Now my major issue is 3G! WOW, dropped calls constantly and a frozen iPhone after the fact... New experience for me and I DON'T LIKE IT! HELP! I've tried everything! I never used to experience dropped calls... I praised AT&T to everyone... Now what do I tell people?

No, still seems handoffs between EDGE and 3G and Wifi are inconsistent and require reset of network settings often.

That's right. Natali Del Conte from CNET TV announced yesterday on Loaded that Jobs promised another update in September. I you don't believe me, check it out.
