iPhone 3G syncing problem

When I sync my iPhone 3G, it takes a really long time for it to backup. I didn't have this problem with my old iPhone, it only took a few minutes. Now it takes about a hour just to sync my iPhone. What can I do? I don't think it is my computer. I have a MacBook Air and it worked phone with my old iPhone. HELP

What size is the 3G and how much data do you have on it compared to your old iPhone?
If you are just doing a sync, you can click the "x" in iTunes to stop the back up and the rest of the sync will continue. I would still suggest letting the backup go on every few syncs to make sure you have a current backup of the iPhone.
