I went to Preferences -- Importing, and it said he was importing using: AAC Encoder. The dropdown menu had a listing for MP3 players. If I switched to the MP3 encoder do you think that would work and when I'm done, change it back?
The Rio (if I remember mine, from back in the day) only supported MP3, and
possibly WAV. But the amount of built in flash memory was rather limited then that you could only fit about 10-12 files (at 128 kbps) on a 64 MB Rio.
However, I do believe that iTunes support for Rio players stopped somewhere around version 3 or 4, around the time that the iPod was introduced. If that is definitely the case, you would need to find an alternate method to get the song files onto the device.
Wish I could help more... I haven't tested mine out in about five years now... 😟
