Val Val Level 1 Level 1
I want to buy headphones so I can listen to Sirius through Safari wirelessly. Too much to ask?
Please let me know if there are headphones out there that will allow this.
I called Apple about 6 mos ago and they didn't help me much.
I have the newest MacBook Pro with Leopard... Thanks!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

If the headphones support both of these Bluetooth profiles: A2DP (stereo music streaming), AVRC (remote control of music player on your phone), you should be good. The second profile is good for controlling itunes.

I've a pair of Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970's that work perfectly!

Sounds great! So, these should pair and work with Safari to Listen to Sirius? Probably won't use with my phone... What's the range like? Thanks!

The range really is dependent on a whole host of parameters: whether you are stood between your headphones and the mac, the manufacturer of the headphones, etc. Generally, around 7 meters in my case

I bought the Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980 headphones which should have the same capabilities as yours. They paired fine. How do I get the audio from the sirius player on my MacBook to transmit to the headphones? Haven't figured that out...

Okay, so start playing your music, click on the bluetooth icon on the menu bar, scroll down to your HBH-ds980 entry, click, and use headphones

I don't know. I returned the headset and got the same one again (the 980)... It is paired but won't work. I choose it from the Bluetooth dropdown on my MacBook but I never get audio through the headset... Here's what the info on the device says:
    Type: Headset HBH-DS980
    Address: some numbers/letters
Services: None (this might be the problem???)
    Paired: YES
    Configured: YES
    FAvorite: YES
    Connected: YES

I play the music (have tried with iTunes and with Safari listening to Sirius online Radio) and click the HBS-DS980 but nothing happens. The headset screen comes on as if it's "looking" for something but nothing else... Any ideas? Thanks so much.

i have a pair of HSH-DS980 headphones, but am unable to get them to pair successfully on my macbook pro running leopard 10.5.5. What is the secret. When I try it says that it is collecting information (and should only take a few seconds) but it takes a looooong time usually the DS980 headset timesout. I have never been able to get it to the point of being able to hear any sounds over the headset from my macbook pro........

Well, I don't know the secret. It didn't have a problem pairing. I added it to my MacBook Pro while the headset was on and followed the directions in the headset manual...
However, even though they are paired I have never heard any sound from my MacBook over the headset. That's where I'm stuck.

I was having more or less the same problem. A few times I could hear the music from the computer, but every time I paused the music it was hard to get it working again.

This is what I did, and it seems to be working:

    1) Delete the DS980 headset as bluetooth device.

    2) Reset the headset following the instructions on the manual (1. On/Off key for 5 seconds and then 2. Press and hold the On/Off key and the call handling key simultaneously for 5 seconds.)

    3) Pair the headset again with the computer, but this time I only selected the headphones service (and uncheck the headset service).

    4) After that I click on the Bluetooth Status on the Menu Bar, and then go to HBH-DS980, and select "use headphones". (I think this is the important part, but before resetting the headset this didn't work all the times)

And now I can hear the music and other sounds from the computer. I hope this helps.

I think next time I may get the iSkin Cerulean F1 + TX.

I just paired my cell phone and the DS980 stop working with the computer again; iTunes freeze and after a while my computer crashed and I had to restart it.

I reset the DS980 and paired it to my computer again (following the steps I posted before), and it seems to be working fine. I won't pair it with my cell phone anymore.

Just bought a pair of Sony DR-BT22 Headphones. Paired up fine. They work for about 10-15 min then the computer locks up.

    Any ideas???

Thanks in advance for any help....Also, I'm listening to Sirius thru StarPlayer...works pretty well.
