video import choppy

I have a powerbook g4 12" 1.5 GHz with 1.25GB of RAM. I installed Leopard in the winter and lately I have noticed more problems with importing video. It is basically so broken up and choppy I can't work with it or view it. Any ideas? I made sure my HD space is open (20GB free) on the local and I save all my work on a 750 GB external. Should I downgrade back to Tiger, is leopard too much for my machine, is that the answer?

Hi

My guess.

Can it be so that You recorded in LP-mode (90min on a 60min tape)

This is a NO NO.
• You MUST use same Camera as recorded when importin
• You can have to set iMovie to not import as individual clips (set in iMovie pref)
• Still You might get problem with audio - resulting in import of 5min blocks one at
a time then extract audio - now import next 5min

Yours guessing Bengt W
