iphone and pioneer car stereo/dvd player and apple composite AV cable

I have a Pioneer car stereo/dvd player in my truck. I have connected an Apple composite AV cable to the AV harness on the deck. I can play audio and video successfully.

My question is about supplying power to the dock connector. The dock connector is powered, as you know, by a USB cable. In the house, it goes into the white brick thing that plugs into the wall.

Anyone know a good way to adapt auto 12VDC so that I can power the dock connector, and thus the iphone?

I don't want to blow anything up. I'm not afraid to cut and paste, but not blindly.

Thanks, all

Roger,

I have this Griffin car charger for my iPhone: http://store.apple.com/us/product/TS267LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0MQ&mco=MTQwNDYwMg. It looks like it would work for you with no cutting and pasting required. Mind you, I haven't tried it myself yet, but I don't see any reason it wouldn't work.

I came here to see if I could find out if the AV cable would let me play video through my van's DVD system. I figured since you answered my question, I'd try to answer yours. Thanks!

Melissa
