Ipod stuck on language screen

So I just wanted to hook up my new 5g, 30gig Ipod and it is stuck on the language screen where it asks to select a language. I tried pressing the play, center button, even checking the hold button. The ipod is charged what am I missing thanks

Having exactly same issue.

Resetting pod doesn't work. Any more ideas?

So far I let my battery run down and I am recharging it now, hopefully it will work.

Ok, iPod now working and fixed!

I held the Center button and the Menu button for 6 seconds together, turned it on again and it worked. Plugged it into computer and it's now uploading songs!

Mine looks like its good to go also, the battery ran down and that did the trick

Out of curiosity, did either or both of you use the iPod before connecting it to your computer? Or did you just take it out of the box and plug it into your computer when this happened?

My iPod was taken out of the box and plugged in, when the screen appeared and froze.

I concur. I too experienced this issue. Fortunately after figuring out the reset part, the iPod now works without a problem.
