Recording with musical typing
Hi All - I am new to Garageband and Mac. I recently bought one of the original eMacs (700Mhz/512MB RAM/40GB HD) which came with Garageband '06 on it, which I then upgraded to '08. In both '06 and '08 I have a strange problem with musical typing.
If I use musical typing to just play, everything works nicely. But as soon as I hit record, there seems to be slight and random delays with it recording my keystrokes. The net result is disjointed chords and melody lines that are out-of-whack.
My guess (and I'm hoping that I'm wrong) is that the problem is with my processor not being able to handle the capture. Can anyone confirm whether this is the case or suggest any workarounds? Would using a midi keyboard help in any way?
