Picture Texts (SMS Messagin?)

Does anyone know how you can send picture messages? Not everyone has email access via their phones (non iphone users). With such an advanced phone it's shocking that it doesn't have the ability to send pictures with anything other than the email tool. You can find it on the cheapest phones.

Any third party apps that can handle this?

At this time there are no 3rd party solutions. The recipient does not have to have an email account, though. Each carrier has a solution. You can email your photo to xxx-xxx-xxx@specific.server.for.the.carrier. There are multiple threads you can search for that have the specific carrier servers, and even a wikipedia article on the subject.

best thing to do is have your friends send you a picture message(MMS) but instead of putting in your cell number, have them put in your email address that you have on your phone...this is the only way you will see pictures sent...in return, you will see their cell's "email address"...save the address to CONTACTS for future use. when you want to send them a picture, using you email account, send it to their cell's email address and they will see it as a picture message like they normally would...

i know you wanted to do something other than using the email tool, but this way, once you get everyone's info, is just as easy...plus its free for you to use...AT&T would definitely charge for picture messaging if they did it that way

i think there were som Apps in the AppStore that say they could do what you want, but from what i heard, they arent very reliable

You can send/receive pics to/from your iphone to another cell phone. I do it all the time.

When someone sends a pic, all they have to do is enter your e-mail address rather than your phone number. Most all cell phones will do this - they do not have to have e-mail capability or anything of the sort. It will send just like any other MMS ( pic message). In the "To:" field they simply enter your e-mail instead of your phone number. The only difference is that you won't pay because you get an e-mail pic instead of an MMS.

You can the save the address that it came from ( it will look like: 1234567890@vzwpix.com). You can then e-mail them a pic directly to their cell phone. It will look just like an MMS. The only difference is that you won't pay because you sent an e-mail pic instead of an MMS.
