Getting my personal videos on my 5G ipod

Yesterday I got the new video iPod. I was told that the only format that this will play is Mpeg4. How can I import my own videos that i have created to my iPod.
I have been using Pinicale to do all of my editing. Then I make the movie as an mpeg4. When I look at my preferences the video tab on my iPod is blanked out. I can see it but everything in this tab will not allow me to click anything in it.

I am using a pc.
