iPhone 3g Bluetooth Problem

hi there
i have got a iPhone 3g and my bluetooth is not working on iphone. Whenever i turn on my bluetooth on my iphone , it turns on but never searches any bluetooth device. It keeps on searching for ages.

Furthermore my other bluetooth embedded cell fone searches the iPhone as available bluetooth advice but when i try to send any files from my other cell fone to my iphone using bluetooth it says Sending Failed

Any Suggestions???

Sounds like you haven't enabled your Bluetooth device to be "findable". That's usually done by hitting a couple of buttons on it simultaneously for a few seconds. (You can look up your device on the 'net to find out how.)

Once in findable mode, THEN search for it using your iPhone.

At this time Bluetooth file transfer protocol (FTP) is not available on the iPhone.

As far as why won't the iPhone see other devices. You need to ensure the device you want iPhone to see is in Discovery mode and or pairing mode. This will then submit a signal for iPhone to see and communicate with.

The iphone will only connect to handsfree telephone and headset devices.

I find it pretty convenient to sync my contacts and calendar items without having to physically connect my phone. I keep it in my messenger bag or pocket and it'll sync. Also it's very easy to send and retrieve photos.

Wired connections are a thing of the past and the (intentionally!) crippled Bluetooth functionality made me choose a SonyEricsson last time around. Next month I can renew my contract and it will be another SE, by the looks of it.
