PairNIC Web hosting

Hi all! Has anyone had any success parking their iweb website on a pairNIC supported domain? I'm new at web site building and parking, but I think I have the building mostly down, now I just have to figure out how to park. I've changed the personal domain settings on my mobile me account, but I'm not sure where to go from there.

Thanks in advance!!

Jennifer

If you are using iWeb and MobileMe, then this has absolutely nothing to do with parking.

If you publish your site to MMe, then you are always publishing here and your site appears on your iDisk. This is always the same and never changes.

What you are actually doing is domain name forwarding, so you enter your domain name into your MMe account and then go and alter the DNS settings at your domain host so your domain is forwarded to your web.me.com site.

If you are not sure, then contact technical support at your domain registrar and ask them if you can do this without a full hosting account. With some you can and some you can't. Tell them what you want to do and they will set it up for your. It just entrails creating CNAME and forwarding it to web.me.com. Nothing else is needed.

pairNIC has three options:

1) Custom DNS, you should be able to set up a CNAME to point to whatever you want, I think this option would work for you.

2) URL forwarding, probably not useful for you in this case.

3) Domain Parking, probably also would work for you in this case. Just give it the hostname that you want to park on. It will set up a DNS record for you, creating A records for yourname.com and www.yourname.com both with the same IP address as the hostname you specified. I'd recommend you go with this option if you can. It's the easiest and sounds like the best fit.
