I connect my hdr-sr11 video camera through the usb. My mac recognizes the pictures and standard video I have recorded and taken but the HD video is not recognized.
To get the AVCHD video you need an Intel based Mac, then in FCE4 you select the
proper HD AIC easy setup matching your video standards (1080i50 if PAL or 1080i60 if NTSC).
Select the Log & Transfer function: the clips will be visible in the window and you can pick which one you want to import.
How do you know if you have an intel based mac and if you don’t have an intel based mac are there any other options of getting your HD video from the Sony HDR-SR11 camcorder onto your mac?
I see a lot of posts on mac users having trouble getting their HD videos off this Sony camera which came highly recommended by mac world. I disappointed, not very mac friendly.
Basically I need to get these HD videos off the camera and onto the mac to then import them into a dvd project I’m working on in iDVD. Is there any hope or did I just by an expensive HD camera that is really meant for PC users?
You need to delete your SD footage off the camera first, then you will be able to import the HD footage. For some reason, if you have ANY SD footage still on the camera, the HD content is inaccessible.
