Cant type numbers or use ctrl/capslock

I just put a new keyboard into my core duo mbp, which fixed my previous issues, but now I can't type any number besides 0, and my ctrl and my caps lock key isn't functioning.
Does anyone know if I may have made a mistake during the install, and if so, where?
Otherwise, is it possible that this keyboard is no good? I had been told it was "used" but only because it was purchased and immediately due to being the wrong keyboard for the first owner.

Background info: the old keyboard had a bad date with some coffee and lost use of a few keys like wertdxc, etc. Applecare is up on this baby so the fastest and most cost effective way was to do this myself, before you ask why I didn't just bring it to Apple.

I understood that you meant the ribbon, I was asking which of the two might be responsible for the row of number keys, I should have made myself clearer, my apologies.
I'm going to open it up in a few minutes and take another look, and maybe screw around with the connections a bit. I'll keep track of this thread by phone, so keep up any suggestions, thanks. 🙂
